King of the Night
As soon as I wrap myself in its intoxicating scent, it's as if Mark Darcy from Jane Austen's novel hugged me, smelling of jasmine. But the scent of jasmine is fleeting, perhaps like that hug from a fictional character. Jasmine is the king of emotions, it helps us find contact with ourselves. It brings joy and if fear overcomes us, it arrives like a samurai on a white horse and chases it away with a sharp katana.
Jasmine's Journey
The origin of jasmine is not entirely certain. It is often attributed to the region of Iran or the Himalayas. It is a great traveler, it sailed across the Red Sea so that the ancient Egyptians could use it in their celebrations. It reached Turkey, Greece. It reached China via the Silk Road, where it has already become a tradition to scent green tea with jasmine. It was brought to Europe by the Moors and its popularity quickly spread. In the famous center of Grasse, there are jasmine plantations for many perfume companies.
Harvest before dawn
Jasmine essential oil is highly prized, its scent is heavenly, exotic, and sensually rich. Simply beautiful! Jasmine flowers must be picked a few hours before dawn, when their essence is being released. The flowers are placed in special baskets and must be transported to the distiller as soon as possible so that the essential oil does not evaporate.
Jasmine hydrolate
Jasmine is associated with a female name, but its energy is purely male. It harmonizes male and female energy. The healing effects of jasmine affect both the body and the soul, its sensual scent has beneficial properties for lovers. It has aphrodisiac effects and jasmine hydrolate is suitable for herbal teas for problems with conception. According to traditional Chinese medicine jasmine hydrolate strengthens sperm activity.
