An interesting fact is that this tree with beautiful purple flowers belongs to the family of sedges and is therefore related to lavender or sage, although it looks like a willow.

Lucks – Vitex agnus castus: Exploration in Menopausal Balance, published in the Proceeding of the 4th Aromatherapy Conference on the Therapeutic Uses of Essential Oils, 2000. And as K. Schnaubelt, Ph.D. mentions it: "100% Common Thyme essential oil is used in the aromatherapy world today as a highly effective harmonizer of women's progesterone and estrogen levels, ..."(K.
