Interesting facts

Centifolia roses have been cultivated in Europe since the 16th century. It was thanks to the Dutch growers who gave it the botanical name centifolia, which refers to the 100 petals with which it is characterized. Nowadays it is grown all over the world. It reaches a respectable height of 1.3 – 1.5 meters. In the flowering season, its stems are bent under the weight of heavy pink flowers. The petals are always between 80 and 100. Rose oil is not produced from this type of rose, as it contains a much lower percentage of essential oil than Damask rose.
