100% rare essential oil Vitex is characterized by a unique and complex aroma of sweet, mint and camphor tones, which resonates very well with the women for whom it is primarily intended. Is known for its harmonizing effects on the female hormonal system . All women suffering from PMS and also in menopause will appreciate it. It also supports cognitive abilities. Suitable for massage oils and roll-on oils. Also in cosmetic products intended for hormone-related acne.

Vitex is also called Abraham’s tree or monk’s pepper, because it was planted in monasteries so that its round fruits helped the monks to tolerate celibacy better. It effectively reduced their desire, which was translated into its Latin botanical name, Agnus castus – chaste ram. It has been associated with purely female problems since ancient times. An interesting fact is that this tree with beautiful purple flowers belongs to the family of sedges and is therefore related to lavender or sage, although it looks like a willow.

This essential oil has been studied e.g. in a study by B. Lucks – Vitex agnus castus: Exploration in Menopausal Balance, published in the Proceeding of the 4th Aromatherapy Conference on the Therapeutic Uses of Essential Oils, 2000. And as K. Schnaubelt, Ph.D. mentions it: “100% Vitex essential oil is used in the aromatherapy world today as a highly effective harmonizer of progesterone and estrogen levels in women, …” ( K. Schnaubelt, Ph.D.: The Healing Intelligence of Essential oils, p.86)
