Magnolia

The magnificent white magnolia is often referred to as white sandalwood or white champaca (derived from the Indonesian Cempaka Putih). In Taiwan, its blossoms are picked from the trees before they open and are then threaded onto wires; they remain fragrant for several days before withering. In Indonesia, it is arranged with jasmine into floral garlands worn by brides during traditional wedding ceremonies. With its rich and highly aromatic floral scent, white magnolia essential oil is a favorite among perfumers.
