Rock rose

Rock rose (Cistus ladanifer) is a creeping herb with hairy white flowers native to the eastern Mediterranean, especially the Greek islands. The Latin name is derived from the Greek word "kístē" (box) for the specific arrangement of its seeds. Did you know that this aromatic treasure, also known as "labdanum", was mentioned several times in the Old Testament?! Rock rose flower water, or labdanum, tightens mature skin and smoothes fine wrinkles. The sweetly warm herbal-musky scent of the essential oil helps when we need to calm and comfort. It is a luxury ingredient, especially in oriental cosmetics and perfumery.
