Bergamot

Bergamot is a hybrid of bitter orange and lemon. According to folklore, Christopher Columbus brought Bergamot from the Canary Islands and began cultivating it in Bergamo in the Italian region of Lombardy, which is one of the hypotheses for the origin of its name. The distillation of the aromatic peel of its fruit produces a hydrosol (floral water), which refreshes oily skin and tightens enlarged pores, as well as an essential oil whose fragrance improves mood.
