At this time, a very popular wine from a more expensive variety of so-called Muscatel (a wine made from muscat grapes). Experienced German buyers, however, were not lazy and came up with a rather clever innovation – they mixed local Rhine wines with Clary Sage flower water and nutmeg. And hence the historical name of “Muscatel sage”.

It aroma of white wine punches and is very pleasant even in a martini.

Among other things, it is recommended for many drinking cures for typically female problems (menopause, heavy menstrual bleeding, invocation of the menstrual cycle after hormonal preparations). Catty points out the synergistic combination of sage hydrosol with yarrow for the overall strengthening of the organism. The resulting taste is somewhat pronounced, slightly bitter, strongly herbal, with a warm finish.
